Uvongo Beach is the most beautiful, sub-tropical beach with sunny blue skies and the warm South African Indian Ocean at your feet. Uvongo Beach is sheltered, has life guards, shark-netted, and has a waterfall running into the lagoon. Uvongo Beach is definitely one of the most beautiful and sought-after beaches on the KZN coast.
Named after the Ivungu River, Uvongo is a picturesque town offering beautiful scenery, vibrant restaurants, nature reserves and popular fishing spots. It is best known for its awe-inspiring waterfall that plunges 23m into one of the deepest lagoons in the South Africa on a beach surrounded by foliage covered rock escarpments. The lagoon and beach are protected by steep cliffs and dense indigenous trees and foliage which must make Uvongo Beach one of the most beautiful in the world.
When you’re lying on the white sands of the beach enjoying this all, it’s not hard to see why Uvongo is considered one of the top holiday destinations on the KZN coastline.
A holiday in Uvongo is ideal for the whole family, as there is always something to do, such as sun-tanning, swimming, snorkelling, body boarding, surfing, jogging, canoeing, pleasure boating and beach fun. For the not so adventurous, you could have romantic strolls on the beach or beach comb the rock pools for plant and sea life. There is also a children’s pool to keep them busy when they get tired of the sea.
